The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Lesson #2

With any new business, the question we get asked most often is, “When will you be opening?” A simple enough question but an extremely difficult one to answer. Originally the answer was June 14th, then September 22nd, then October 13th.  We’re still not open and today is October 30th...

Lesson #2
The “Take Your Initial Grand Opening Date, Add 10 Visits to the City Permit Office, Tack on Half a Year for Good Measure and then You Might Actually Be Opening” Lesson.
(Equation subject to change depending on when our doors actually open)

Some businesses seem to pop-up overnight, a storefront vacant and within months it is filled.  That has not been the case for TEAMride. We were prepared for an October 13th opening: launched our website and all social media, went to local businesses with fliers and we even went so far as to announce this date to all of you!  Whoops, fake-out!

The point is, when you are starting a business, good intentions and the best laid plans don’t always sync-up with all the other factors outside of your control.  Some say, timing is everything.  We say, timing is tricky.  We made a mistake but we’re rolling with it.  To say it has been frustrating is an understatement.  We are so ready to bring TEAMride alive with all of you; to see our dream in reality.  In the meantime, time keeps ridin’ on and we do too!

Check back next Tuesday for Lesson #3. Click here to read Lesson #1 if you missed it!

  1. All in good time...nothing you can do about things out of your control! By the time you open your doors, TEAMride will be bursting through your veins and permeating SacTown! Can't wait for the opening...and I'm in SoCal!
